OVERVIEW

Working with Windows

In addition to the maximize, minimize, and restore buttons, there is one other way to change the size of a window. When you move the cursor over the side or corner of a window and hold down the left mouse button, you can drag the borders of the window to make it smaller or larger.

Sometimes you will have more items in a window than you can view at one time. When this occurs, the window displays at least one scroll bar to allow you to see more items. If the window is too short to display all of its items, you'll see a vertical scroll bar, usually on the right side of the window. If the window is too narrow to display all of its items, you will see a horizontal scroll bar usually located on the bottom of the window. The following screen shows an example of a window with a vertical scroll bar.

There are different ways you can use the scroll bars to display the window's contents. One way allows you to make very small moves by clicking the arrow at either end of the scroll box. Another way to move through a window's contents is to click the scroll bar on either side of the scroll box. This scrolls the window by jumping to about one full window's worth of items.
